Enrollment of New Law and Government Students!!!

Acceptance letters have been mailed. Please confirm your acceptance by Friday, April 6, 2018. Call our Magnet Coordinator Grace Fabian at (818)830-4248 to secure a place in our Magnet program and schedule an appointment to meet with the Magnet Counselor.

Available times are:
Monday, April 9, 4:00 pm-7:00 pm, Wednesday, April 11, 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm
Friday, April 13, 4:00 pm- 7:00 pm, Monday, April 16, 4:00 pm -7:00 pm, Saturday,
May 12, 9 am – 1:00 pm
Appointments are set up every 15 minutes and are approximately 20-30 minutes in length.

Yuridia Garcia - MVP and L.A. City Girl's Wrestling Champion

Law and Government Magnet Student Yuridia Garcia won Most Valuable Player and L.A. City Girl's Wrestling Champion! Our Lady Vikings finished in 3rd place in the CIF Los Angeles Section Wrestling Championship. Yuri is our first ever Girl's Champion at 126lbs. She along with 2 of her teammates qualified for the state championships.

Four Law and Government Magnet seniors have earned admittance to some our nation’s most competitive liberal arts colleges through early decision. They are Oswaldo Cota – Carleton College, Minnesota; Elizabeth Lopez - Smith College, Massachusetts; Amy Quintanilla - Wellesley College, Massachusetts; and Kyle Wisely - Occidental College, California. Congratulations, seniors, on distinguishing yourselves and our magnet program.

ANGEL DE PACINA AND MOISES SAUCEDO AWARDED POSSE SCHOLARSHIPS

Law and Government Magnet seniors Angel De Pacina and Moises Saucedo have each earned POSSE scholarships this year. Angel will attend Middlebury College in Vermont, and Moises will attend Dickinson College in Pennsylvania. Posse scholarships include full tuition, which can average over $50,000 per year. In addition, these colleges provide qualifying students financial aid to help cover the cost of housing. The academic and social support POSSE offers students as they prepare for college is invaluable, and POSSE also provides on-campus professionals committed to helping its students make the most of their college education. With the selection of Angel and Moises, the Magnet now boasts 22 students who have received this prestigious scholarship. Congratulations!

Over $2,000,000 in Scholarships Awarded to Class of 2017!

Monroe's Magnet students were awarded over 2 million dollars in scholarships. Our 2017 graduating seniors are now attending UCLA, UC Berkeley, UC Santa Barbara, UC Davis, as well as Smith College, Wellesley College, Middlebury College, Dickinson College, and Duke University.
We currently have 18 enrolled students in the top 20 colleges and universities in the country, according to US News and World Reports College Rankings.
