Four Law and Government Magnet seniors have earned admittance to some our nation’s most competitive liberal arts colleges through early decision. They are Oswaldo Cota – Carleton College, Minnesota; Elizabeth Lopez - Smith College, Massachusetts; Amy Quintanilla - Wellesley College, Massachusetts; and Kyle Wisely - Occidental College, California. Law and Government Magnet seniors Angel De Pacina and Moises Saucedo have each earned POSSE scholarships this year. Angel will attend Middlebury College in Vermont, and Moises will attend Dickinson College in Pennsylvania. Posse scholarships include full tuition, which can average over $50,000 per year. In addition, these colleges provide qualifying students financial aid to help cover the cost of housing. The academic and social support POSSE offers students as they prepare for college is invaluable, and POSSE also provides on-campus professionals committed to helping its students make the most of their college education. With the selection of Angel and Moises, the Magnet now boasts 22 students who have received this prestigious scholarship. Congratulations!

Over $2,000,000 in Scholarships Awarded to Class of 2017!

Monroe's Magnet students were awarded over 2 million dollars in scholarships. Our 2017 graduating seniors are now attending UCLA, UC Berkeley, UC Santa Barbara, UC Davis, as well as Smith College, Wellesley College, Middlebury College, Dickinson College, and Duke University.
We currently have 18 enrolled students in the top 20 colleges and universities in the country, according to US News and World Reports College Rankings.

OCTOBER 2 - NOVEMBER 9, 2017 eChoices Magnet Application Window

The application window for the upcoming 2017-2018 school year is October 2, 2017 through November 9, 2017. Additionally, families have the opportunity to submit a Late Application on-line beginning February 1, 2018. These applications are considered only after all Wait Listed students have been offered enrollment. E-Choice brochures are now available in the Magnet Office.
